Providing Children The Learning
Opportunity of A Lifetime!
School Can Look Like This
Tír na nÓg Forest School offers an immersive educational experience that encourages hands-on learning and inquiry-based exploration. With a holistic approach to education, the New Brunswick Department of Education Curriculum Outcomes are incorporated seamlessly with Forest School Pedagogy. We recognize that not all children learn in the same way or at the same pace, so traditional subjects such as math, literacy, science, social studies, art, and music are presented in a natural environment that supports emergent learning.
Immersion in nature over an extended period of time provides a sense of belonging in children as they watch the cycles of life unfold throughout the four seasons. This direct exposure to nature supports a child’s self-confidence, emotional and physical well-being and provides a solid foundation for the mindset required to focus on academic performance.
We welcome your family to join us for this educational adventure!
FREE RANGE LEARNING
All children learn at their own pace and in their own way. Engaging the whole child throughout their learning journey helps to create well-balanced, resilient, and self-confident individuals. At Forest School, our focus on the whole child includes the following:
Encouraging children to lead activities within their group (social)
Providing opportunities for children to do develop fine and gross motor skills (physical)
Encouraging children to share their experiences and interests (intellectual)
Offering challenging but achievable activities to help develop personal satisfaction and enrichment (character)
Encouraging personal reflection and allowing opportunities for children to develop personal conflict management skills (emotional)
Exposing children to different views and beliefs and encouraging them to express their own views and beliefs (spiritual)
At Forest School, we treat childhood like the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity it is!
